G. Burns Partners with Blackline Car Care to Help Funeral Homes Protect Their Fleet
For years, our customers have trusted G. Burns to help outfit their funeral vehicles. Increasingly, we have also heard another question: What do you recommend for keeping them clean and protected?
That question became especially important when it came to our removable landau bars.
We wanted more than something that would simply clean a polished surface. We wanted a product we could recommend from day one to help our customers protect their landau bars, maintain their shine, and make ongoing care easier.
That search led us to another Ohio company, Blackline Car Care.
After months of conversations, hands-on testing, and a visit with the Blackline team, we are excited to announce a new strategic partnership between G. Burns and Blackline Car Care.
And it starts with a product we have put to the test ourselves: Blackline Vionyx Ceramic Protectant.
Finding a Better Way to Care for Our Landau Bars
Our conversations with Blackline began after learning about the company through our network.
We approached their team with a specific goal.
We wanted to find a simple, effective product that could help our customers care for and protect their landau bars against the elements while maintaining the polished appearance that makes them such a recognizable part of a funeral vehicle.
We were not interested in adding a car care product simply because it gave us something new to sell. If G. Burns was going to recommend a product for use on one of our best-known products, we wanted to be confident in it ourselves.
That meant testing.
Putting Vionyx to the Test
Working with Blackline, we landed on Vionyx Ceramic Protectant as the product we wanted to evaluate.
Blackline designed Vionyx as an easy-to-use ceramic protectant that adds gloss, surface slickness, and hydrophobic protection. Application is straightforward: apply it to a clean surface, wipe it in, and buff it off with a microfiber towel.
We tested it extensively on our landau bars, including older bars that had already seen real-world use.
The results made the decision easy.
We saw the shine we wanted, but just as important was how the surface felt and performed afterward. Vionyx created a slick finish that helped with fingerprints and water spots while adding another layer of protection against everyday exposure.
And it is simple to use.
That matters to us. Funeral home vehicles need to be maintained to a high standard, but the solution should not make an already busy job more complicated.
Our recommendation is to begin using Vionyx when your landau bars are new and continue incorporating it into regular care. Starting with that protection from the beginning can help make ongoing cleaning and maintenance easier.
There is another benefit, too.
Vionyx is made for automotive care, so the same bottle can also be used to add shine and protection to the vehicle itself. For funeral homes maintaining a hearse, SUV, van, or other service vehicle, it gives the product a useful place in the broader fleet-care routine.
Why Blackline Car Care?
Finding the right product was the first priority.
Finding the right company behind it made the partnership even better.
Blackline Car Care is headquartered in Perry, Ohio, and was built from a genuine enthusiasm for automotive detailing. Founder Jon McKnight's background includes professional detailing, chemistry, and automotive care, experience that eventually came together in the creation of Blackline.
We had the opportunity to visit Blackline's facility, meet with their team, and see the operation firsthand.
The passion was obvious.
These are people who care about vehicles, care about the products they create, and are constantly looking for ways to make those products better. That matters when we choose companies to work with.
At G. Burns, we are proud of our Ohio roots. We will always seek out the best products and partners for our customers regardless of where they are located, but we admit there is something special about finding that kind of partner here at home.
Two Ohio companies serving their customers with products they believe in is something we are proud to be part of.
"We weren't looking for another product to put on the shelf. We were looking for something we could confidently recommend to our customers because we had used it ourselves and believed in the results. After testing Vionyx and spending time with the Blackline team, we knew we had found both a product and a partner we could stand behind. Their passion for what they do is obvious, and being able to work with another Ohio company makes it even better. We're excited about where this partnership can go."

Starting with Vionyx, With More to Come
The partnership officially begins in September 2026, and Blackline Vionyx Ceramic Protectant is available now from G. Burns.
For us, Vionyx is the natural place to start because it answers the original question that began this entire process: How can we help our customers better clean, protect, and maintain their landau bars?
But we do not expect the partnership to stop there.
Blackline offers a growing range of vehicle care products, and we plan to continue working with their team to identify additional products that make sense for funeral homes and the vehicles they maintain.
We will share more as those products are added.
For nearly 50 years, G. Burns has focused on helping funeral professionals find practical solutions for their vehicles. Sometimes that means developing a product ourselves. Other times, it means finding a company doing something exceptionally well and bringing that solution to our customers.
With Blackline Car Care, we believe we have found exactly that.
