G. Burns Expands Nameplate Offering With New Options for Traditional Hearses
For years, funeral homes have turned to G. Burns for removable nameplates designed to identify SUVs, vans, first-call vehicles, and other funeral home vehicles. Now, we are expanding that offering with new custom nameplate options designed specifically for traditional hearses.
Our new Classic Hearse Nameplates and Signature Engraved Hearse Nameplates give funeral professionals two distinct options for replacing or updating the nameplates used in traditional hearse nameplate holders.
More importantly, their addition completes something we have wanted to offer for some time: a nameplate solution for virtually every vehicle in a funeral home fleet.
Whether your fleet includes traditional hearses, SUVs, vans, first-call vehicles, transport vehicles, or a combination of them, G. Burns can now help provide a consistent source for custom vehicle identification.
New Nameplate Options for Traditional Hearses
The expansion started with conversations with our customers.
Funeral professionals were looking for quality replacement and custom nameplates for their hearses, and finding the right solution was not always easy. At the same time, many of those same customers were already using G. Burns products elsewhere in their fleet.
That presented an opportunity.
Rather than requiring a funeral home to source nameplates for its hearse from one company and nameplates for its SUVs or vans from another, we wanted to build a more complete offering around the different ways funeral vehicles are designed.
Traditional hearses and newer funeral home vehicles often require very different nameplate solutions. A traditional hearse commonly uses nameplates that slide into holders inside the vehicle's window area. An SUV, van, or first-call vehicle may not have those holders at all.
Our expanded nameplate collection is designed with those differences in mind.
Classic Hearse Nameplates
Our Classic Hearse Nameplates provide a traditional custom nameplate option using premium acrylic material and vinyl lettering.
Customers can select from multiple material, lettering color, font, and design options to create a clean, professional presentation that complements their hearse and funeral home branding.
The Classic line is a strong choice for funeral homes replacing older hearse nameplates or outfitting a vehicle with a traditional nameplate style.
Signature Engraved Hearse Nameplates
For funeral homes looking for a different finish, our Signature Engraved Hearse Nameplates offer a premium engraved option.
Rather than applying lettering to the surface, the funeral home name is engraved into the material. Multiple finishes, fonts, and optional design elements are available to create a refined nameplate appropriate for a traditional hearse.
Both the Classic and Signature options are designed to work with traditional hearse nameplate holders, giving funeral homes the ability to select the style that best fits their fleet and presentation.
A Nameplate Solution for the Entire Funeral Home Fleet
Adding nameplates for traditional hearses also allowed us to complete a much bigger picture.
Funeral home fleets have changed considerably over the years. A fleet that once may have consisted primarily of traditional hearses can now include SUVs, minivans, first-call vans, transport vehicles, and custom-built funeral vehicles.
Those vehicles do not all use the same hardware or require the same type of nameplate.
Our Removable Nameplates for Funeral Vehicles remain the solution for many vehicles without traditional built-in nameplate holders. They mount to the exterior of the vehicle using our removable fastener system, making them a practical option for funeral home SUVs, vans, first-call vehicles, and custom builds.
The addition of our Classic and Signature lines means traditional hearses can now be included in that same G. Burns nameplate offering.
For funeral homes operating a mixed fleet, that matters.
“It was important to us that a funeral home could come to G. Burns and find a quality nameplate option regardless of the type of vehicle they operate. Whether they have a traditional hearse, an SUV, a van, or a combination across their fleet, we wanted to be a trusted partner for all of it. We’re proud to now offer these additional options and give our customers one source for their funeral vehicle nameplate needs.”
Keith Bales, Owner, G. Burns
Working with one provider can also make it easier to maintain branding continuity across a fleet. While the construction and installation method may change from a traditional hearse to an SUV or van, the goal remains the same: clearly and professionally representing the funeral home.
Building on a Long History of Removable Funeral Vehicle Accessories
Removable accessories aren’t new to G. Burns. Our history with removable funeral vehicle accessories stretches back to the mid-1990s, when G. Burns developed removable solutions that gave funeral homes more flexibility in how vehicles could be outfitted and presented.
Removable landau bars became one of the products G. Burns would become best known for, while removable nameplates provided funeral homes with a complementary way to add their identity to vehicles without relying on traditional hearse hardware.
That pairing remains especially useful today as more funeral homes incorporate SUVs, vans, and custom vehicles into their fleets.
A set of G. Burns Removable Landau Bars can help give a modern vehicle a more traditional funeral vehicle appearance, while a removable nameplate provides clear funeral home identification. Both are designed around the idea of adding the appropriate funeral vehicle presentation without requiring the vehicle to be permanently configured like a traditional hearse.
Our new hearse nameplates build on that same history while allowing us to serve the other side of the fleet as well.
Hearse Nameplate Holders and Replacement Hardware
A nameplate is only part of the installation, which is why our expanded offering also includes nameplate hardware.
For traditional hearses, G. Burns offers both Flat Hearse Nameplate Holders and Curved Hearse Nameplate Holders. These provide replacement holder options for vehicles with missing, damaged, or worn hardware and are designed for use with our Classic and Signature Hearse Nameplates.
We also carry replacement hardware for our removable funeral vehicle nameplates, helping customers maintain their existing nameplates or transfer them when vehicle needs change.
Bringing the nameplates and supporting hardware together was another important part of creating a more complete solution. Our goal is to make it easier for funeral professionals to find the parts they need without searching across multiple suppliers.
Built Around What Our Customers Needed
Many of the products G. Burns carries today have grown from conversations with funeral directors, vehicle builders, and others working directly with funeral home vehicles.
This expansion is another example.
We heard customers looking for a quality hearse nameplate solution. We also saw the value in being able to support more of their fleet from one source.
The result is an expanded collection that gives funeral homes more choice while staying focused on what matters: professional presentation, quality products, useful customization, and dependable support.
For G. Burns, the new Classic and Signature Hearse Nameplates are more than two additions to our catalog.
They complete a nameplate offering built for the way funeral home fleets operate today.
